See the dip before you buy — Spending Impact explained
Spending Impact shows whether a planned purchase still leaves you OK when rent, BNPL, and weekend bills land. A 30-day preview — no bank login.

Spending Impact is a preview: you add a planned purchase to your 30-day forecast and see the dip before you spend. Today’s balance can look fine. Rent week, a Klarna instalment, and a weekend clearance can still make the same buy a problem.

What Spending Impact actually is
It is not a lecture and it is not a credit score.
You already have (or enter):
- Income dates (weekly pay, fortnightly, variable)
- Commitments (rent, bills, BNPL)
- A daily spend limit if you want one
Then you test: “What if I buy this for £X on Thursday?”
The forecast redraws. You see whether the line stays above zero — or above your own buffer — when the rest of the month lands.

When today’s balance lies
A Saturday balance after Friday pay is the classic trap. Weekend clearances mean some bills have not left yet.
BNPL is the other trap. The banking app never booked the next two Klarna hits. Track them as commitments.
Spending Impact is how you refuse both traps without doing mental maths in the shop.
When to use it
- Any purchase that would dent more than a day’s spend limit
- Weekend trips that land on rent week
- “It’s only Pay in 3” checkouts
- Zero-hours weeks when the next payday is uncertain
If the dip is ugly, wait, split, or skip. If the trail stays clean, you can buy without the Monday guilt.

Worked example (illustrative)
Saturday balance looks like £1,400. You want £120 trainers.
Without a forecast: “I have £1,400.”
With Spending Impact: rent Tuesday £750, Clearpay Thursday £30, daily limit still needed for food — the line dips harder than the trainers are worth.
That is the point of how the forecast works.
